Sue Wood Millinery Receives Business Boost From Dragon, Theo Paphitis

I am delighted to share that I have received a business boost from retail entrepreneur, Theo Paphitis, this week.

I tweeted Theo about my millinery business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his 500,000+ Twitter followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo Paphitis in 2010, now has over 2000 SBS winner and supports small business across the UK.

Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed shopkeeper, Theo retweeted my message to his half a million followers and as a result, my Twitter following shot up over night as I was welcomed by other members of the exclusive SBS community. And what a warm welcome it was!

2018 is certainly setting itself up to be a fantastic year for Sue Wood Millinery. Just five years ago, I was working as a secretary and now here I am, winning Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday and being chosen to exhibit alongside milliners from across the world at London Hat Week. Having my hard work recognised not just locally but nationally by hundreds of people is really rewarding.

I specialise in creating bespoke headwear for special events and theatrical performances, including fascinators, hatinators, cloche hats, percher hats, and any other type of hat you can think of. I especially adore working with upcycled materials and accessories. But nothing comes close to making the ladies I work with feel beautiful and confident on some of the most special occasions in their lives.

Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.”

He continued, “My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website and Shop #SBS will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Sue Wood Millinery every success.”

Anyone looking to be part of the #SBS family should tweet Theo @TheoPaphitis about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then reap the benefits of the #SBS networking opportunities.
